Pray for Oregon families For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.                                  II Corinthians 10:4 We have come full circle yet again, and have covered the 36 counties of Oregon over the last few weeks. While a county-by-county focus has brought an organization and focus to our prayers, it seems time to delve deeper into other areas. The North West Region includes Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington, and Columbia Counties and we will be exploring parts of this area. We still want to focus prayer on a specific county each week. This week we are back in Clackamas County. Legislator of the week : Lori Chavez-DeRemer represents Oregon’s Congressional District 5 in the U.S. House of Representatives. District 5 covers most of Clackamas County as well as Linn, Deschutes, and parts of Multnomah and Marion Counties. In 2022 she became one of the first Latinas and the first Republican woman elected to Congress from Oregon. Willamette Falls, Clackamas County, OR This says the Lord: “Keep justice, and do righteousness, For My salvation is about to come…” Isaiah 56:1 Clackamas County is part of the Metro area of Oregon, meaning it is one of the three counties that make up Portland: Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington. However, Clackamas County has other areas of interest as well. The south-eastern portion of the county is largely rural and extends into the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. The county seat is Oregon City. I was born in Oregon City because the hospital was here. My parents were living in those foothills at the time. A couple of years ago I moved to Oregon City and have now learned something about the history. The town was platted, originally, by Dr. John McLoughlin, and his influence is everywhere. We are instructed in I Timothy to pray for our leaders. Many are praying for the 2020 election, our economy, and an end to the covid-19 virus - all vital concerns.   One way to organize a prayer list is to pray over the state county by county. If I do the easy thing and just start where I am, I begin with Clackamas county. Actually, this might be a good choice since Clackamas is one of the original four counties established by the Provisional Legislature on July 5, 1843.
